Lions win back-to-back girls field hockey championships

The Assumption College Lions girls field hockey team is unbeatable.

Playing in the Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk championship on Tuesday against McKinnon Park Secondary School at Bisons Alumni North Park Sports Complex, the Lions defeated the Blue Devils 3-0.

The win not only gave Assumption the title for the second year in a row, it also allowed the Lions to complete their second straight undefeated season.

Despite winning this year’s championship convincingly, ACS coach Sarah McDade said it wasn’t as easy as it looked.
