The North Park Collegiate Trojans don’t have a win in the Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk senior football league yet but they’re trending in the right direction.
Following a lopsided loss to St. John’s College last week, North Park bounced back but still came up a bit short in losing 29-18 to the Assumption College Lions (1-0) on Thursday at Bisons Alumni North Park Sports Complex.
“There was some better execution for sure,” said NPC coach Todd Andrew. “We were able to move the ball a little more efficiently.”
The Trojans were able to move the ball through the air and on the ground against the Lions. And on defence, there were some good stands that stopped Assumption drives.
However, North Park’s Achilles on Thursday were mistakes. Andrew said with a small roster of inexperienced players, those things will happen.
