Despite a bit of a slow start to the Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk senior boys volleyball season, the Assumption College Lions remain focused on their goal.

“The expectation is playoffs,” ACS coach Rae Ferraccioli said following her team’s 26-24, 26-24 and 25-16 home win on Thursday against Pauline Johnson Collegiate, which improved the team’s record to 1-2.

“I think we should make playoffs. They definitely have the potential.”

The Lions have combined players this year from a senior team that went 6-6 a year ago and a junior squad that was 8-4. Ferraccioli said jelling as a team is taking time.
