four-decade wait is over for former W. Ross Macdonald School residence counsellor Mick Ferras.
Ferras started running the Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk cross-country championship as a guide runner for para athletes from WRMS when he was 22-years-old.
Now 66 and retired, this was the first time he has guided one of the runners from the school to victory as he and Jackson Rukundo captured the para 4.1-kilometre race on Wednesday at Mohawk Park in 24 minutes.
