Eagles impressive heading into senior football playoffs

St. John’s College left no doubt who the favourite is heading into the Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk senior football playoffs.

Facing Assumption College on Friday at Kiwanis Field in the final game of the regular season, St. John’s (4-0) scored a convincing 42-7 win over the Lions (3-1) in a battle for first place.

St. John’s will now face fourth-place Paris District High School (1-3) in one semifinal on Oct. 27 at Bisons Alumni North Park Sports Complex at 5 p.m. while Assumption takes on third-place North Park Collegiate (2-2) in the other at 7 p.m.

Both games will be played on Thursday. The final is slated for Nov. 3 at Bisons Alumni at 7:30 p.m.
