Hosting the Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association AA championship on Monday at Bisons Alumni North Park Sports Complex, the Trojans posted a perfect 3-0 record in preliminary play by shutting out its opponents by a combined score of 18-0. By Brian Smiley The McKinnon Park Blue Devils boys’ lacrosse team on Friday showed they will be a squad to be reckoned with when the OFSAA championship begins June 3. The Blue Devils went undefeated at the CWOSSA A championships last week and on Friday beat the Assumption College Lions 9-3 to win the Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk lacrosse championship. SJC defeated Assumption College 53-0 in the final with Jake Hall scoring three tries. David Rich, Cainan Martin, Justin Ladd, Joseph Szarka, Logan Harrison and Cole MacNaught got one each. By Brian Smiley Despite losing by the slimmest of margins in a photo finish, Assumption College’s Rashaad Eichenberg wasn’t disappointed in his team after it finished second in the 4X100 metre senior boys relay at the CWOSSA track and field championship on Wednesday. By Brian Smiley It was mission accomplished for Assumption College’s Foster Dropko this week at the Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association track and field championship at Kiwanis Field. Dropko finished third in the junior boys 1,500-metre race on Wednesday and then followed that up with a second-place finish in the 3,000-metre race on Thursday. By Brian Smiley Brantford Collegiate Institute captured the Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association ultimate frisbee championship this week at North Park Collegiate. BCI went 4-0 at CWOSSA, defeating Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk champion North Park Collegiate 5-3 in the final.
