SJC wins AABHN fastball championship

By Brian Smiley St. John’s College captured the Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk fastball championship on Friday, defeating Hagersville Secondary School 10-5 in the final. St. John’s was 3-1 during the regular season, allowing just four runs. Its only loss was in the first game of the regular season when Brantford Collegiate Institute beat SJC 3-2. BCI’s team of Kyle Currie (fifth), Grayson McGowan (ninth), Carson Vukelich (21st) and Luke McStravick (25th) finished first overall in the novice boys division at the Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association championship at Greens at Renton near Simcoe on Thursday.
