The Paris District High School boys hockey team needed a win in a big way.

Fighting for the final playoff spot in the Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk league, the Panthers responded on Tuesday at the Gretzky Centre with a 7-3 win against the North Park Collegiate Trojans (0-6).

Paris (2-3-1) now finds itself fourth in the eight-team league, with the top-six teams making the playoffs. The Panthers are one point ahead of St. John’s College (2-3) and two points in front of Brantford Collegiate Institute (1-3-1) and Delhi District Secondary School (1-1-1).
