It took them three tries but the Assumption College Lions defeated the North Park Collegiate Trojans when it mattered most.

Playing in the Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk junior boys volleyball championship on Friday at NPC, the Lions beat the Trojans 25-19, 25-16 and 25-20.

Although Assumption (11-3) finished first at the conclusion of the regular season, two of the team’s three losses were to North Park (10-5).
