Eagles, Lions to play for boys hockey championship

St. John’s College survived a semifinal scare on Tuesday in Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk boys hockey.

Putting their undefeated record on the line at the Gretzky Centre against McKinnon Park Secondary School, the first-place Eagles (8-0-3) overcame a two-goal, third-period deficit on their way to a 4-3 shootout win against the fourth-place Blue Devils (4-7-1).

St. John’s will now play second-place Assumption College (9-1-1) in the final on Thursday at the Gretzky Centre at 2:30 p.m. ACS shut out six-place North Park Collegiate (2-10-0) 2-0 in the other semifinal.
